Justin Mencini

Justin Mencini is a Colorado-based artist that creates a very unique style of fine art known as sculpted relief, a 3-dimensional art form comprised of a plaster compound built up in a series of layers.

 

Sculpted relief is a sculpture and painting hybrid of sorts, in which Justin will use mud knives to sculpt and carve a scene or image onto a wooden panel or wall, and then carefully paint each three-dimensional image into a final form that literally pops forward off the flat surface. Justin works with various themes and iconic imagery related to sports, nature, and pop culture.
